WAY Wellness Center offers a comprehensive program of acupuncture, massage therapy, herbal medicine, and support with evaluating nutrition and lifestyle choices. We are happy to work as an alternative to, or in conjunction with, traditional western fertility and family planning medicine.
Fertility enhancement begins with a smooth, regular menstrual cycle and active, healthy sperm. Acupuncture can treat menstrual problems such as PMS, excessively heavy periods, pain with menstruation or ovulation, absence of periods, or irregular cycles. Additionally, acupuncture and herbs can help with male fertility enhancement.
Acupuncture can also affect other fertility factors such as habitual miscarriage, elevated FSH, low progesterone, ovulation disorders, uterus and cervical disorders, endometriosis, immunological factors, polycystic ovaries, and advanced maternal age.
Many of our fertility clients also receive regular fertility support massage or therapeutic massage to aid in the process.
Fertility support massage focuses on stress reduction and utilizes abdominal bodywork in order to release tension, promote alignment and mobility of soft tissue structures, enhance blood flow, and reduce adhesions, restrictions and scar tissue.
This work is not suitable during menstruation or active bleeding, or for those with an IUD, pelvic infection or active cancer cells.
Compassionate, supportive care from conception through parenthood is invaluable. Our practitioners bring a deeply compassionate approach to prenatal and postpartum care, offering massage therapy that supports the physical and emotional transitions of parenthood. Sessions are designed to honor each individual's unique journey, providing a safe space for relaxation, recovery, and reconnection. Offered by Kalyn Caine, LMT, IBCLC.
Prenatal (pregnancy) massage is a relaxing way to support your mind, body, and spirit. A wonderful way to feel comfortable as your body changes throughout your pregnancy. Therapist uses side-lying positioning and a variety of props for your comfort and stability throughout the session.
Prenatal massage is safe for all trimesters of your pregnancy. If you are concerned based on your own personal journey with conception and pregnancy, please discuss with your PCP or OB/GYN before scheduling.

Preparing for labor and delivery isn't just about remembering your due date and packing your go-bag. It includes compassionate self-care and understanding what lies ahead in the coming weeks. WAY Wellness Center offers labor preparation support through acupuncture and massage therapy. If you are seeking medical induction, please contact your obstetrician or primary care physician for advice.
To learn more about labor preparation support methods offered at WAY Wellness Center, please contact us to speak with a practitioner or schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
Labor preparation support with acupuncture may help to ease the transition into and through labor. Several appointments may be recommended leading up to your anticipated due date or scheduled induction date. This is not considered a method of induction nor does this technique induce labor. It is recommended to schedule a 15-minute free consultation with an acupuncturist to discuss if labor preparation acupuncture is right for you and to determine your treatment plan.
In the past, labor preparation through massage therapy may have been referred to as "induction massage." This name is incorrect and outdated. Massage therapy is not a method of induction. There are various massage therapy techniques that may be used to support you through the transition into labor and delivery.
Labor preparation massage is scheduled with Kalyn Caine, LMT, IBCLC, during a prenatal massage session closer to your anticipated due date or scheduled induction date. Acupressure is a primary technique Kalyn uses for labor preparation. To ensure ample time for acupressure points and full-body massage, it is recommended that you book a 90-minute session with Kalyn.
It is also recommended to first schedule a prenatal massage therapy session with Kalyn at least 4 weeks prior to your due date to learn about the benefits of prenatal massage and labor preparation support.
We also recommend seeking the skilled, dedicated support of birth doulas, postpartum doulas, and lactation consultants. These services are not available at WAY Wellness Center. For recommendations on these services, please contact your obstetrician or primary care physician. Community-based organizations including The Midwife Center and the MAYA Organization are also valuable resources. For private support, we recommend Kalyn Caine, LMT, IBCLC, or one of many other certified and insured practitioners within the greater Pittsburgh area.
