Frequently Asked Questions

What precautions are you following for health?

Our staff are regularly disinfecting shared surfaces in the bathroom, reception area, and treatment rooms.  We are clearing our air space with a HEPA air filtration system in every treatment room. There may be use of essential oils in some rooms as a further method of disinfection. Face masks are optional at the clinic at this time. Staff may be asked to wear face mask during your session if you prefer. All of our linens are hospital clinical grade from Clean Care who handles the laundering of all dirty linens. Every treatment table has a disinfectable cover on the table to ensure sanitization between treatments with CDC and EPA approved cleaners.

Do I have to wear a mask during my treatment session?

Masks or face coverings are optional for both clients and practitioners.

Do you accept walk-ins or same-day appointments?

Please read carefully: Same-day appointments may be available for all services.

Online scheduling for same-day appointments is available up to 3 hours before an appointment time. All same-day appointments require a credit card on file to book. Same-day appointments cannot be canceled. The full rate of the appointment will be due after the completed appointment time regardless of whether or not the client attended the appointment.

You may also call the office directly at 412-772-1461 to book a same-day appointment. All same-day appointments made over the phone require a credit card payment in full at the time of booking.

There are no refunds once a same-day appointment is booked and charged. If a client books a same-day appointment and late cancels or "no shows" to the appointment, the full amount of the appointment will still be paid and no refunds are available.

We do not accept walk-ins for any services.

Do you require a credit card on file for appointments?

All appointment bookings require a credit card to hold the appointment, regardless of booking method (online, in-person, or over the phone). Your information is stored securely. Your card will not be charged until after the appointment unless you late cancel or no-show to the appointment. A late cancelation is any cancelation within the 24-hour window prior to your appointment. All late cancelations must be done over the phone or via email. Certain situations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine if the late cancelation fee may be waived. A no-show means the client did not cancel and did not notify us they would not be making the appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

There is a $50 fee for cancellations made less than 24-hours in advance, outside of an emergency situation. Cancellation fees are separate from the value of a gift certificate and must be paid separately.

All illness-related cancellations within the 24-hour window are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Same-day cancellations related to COVID-19 symptoms or situations are no longer being waived but will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.  The practitioner ultimately determines whether or not the $50 cancellation fee is applied to the appointment. All illness-related cancellations must be made at least 2 hours before the scheduled appointment time. Any illness-related cancellation made within 2 hours of the scheduled appointment time will be charged the $50 cancellation fee. The only exception is in the case of emergency.

You may cancel or reschedule your appointment through the online scheduling system up to 24 hours prior to the appointment. Within 24 hours of the appointment, you must contact the office at 412-772-1461 or contact@waywellnesscenter.com to cancel or reschedule.

Emergency situations are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Generally, an emergency situation is defined as a situation where the individual is suddenly unable to attend the appointment due to some type of medical emergency, life emergency, death in the family, or other such event.

A "No Show" means the client does not show up to the appointment and does not notify the office they will not be coming. All "No Shows" will automatically be charged the entire fee of the missed appointment after a 24-hour waiting period. The client must contact the office within the 24-hour waiting period and schedule another appointment in order to prevent being charged the full cost of the service. The client will still be charged a $50 fee when rescheduling within this 24-hour waiting period in order to cover the time of the practitioner who was impacted. If the client chooses to contest either charge, the situation will be reviewed by the office administration with the practitioner. If the practitioner and office agree, the charged amount may be placed on the client account as a credit. The client will have 30 days from the date of the original no-show appointment to use the credit. After 30 days, the credit will be removed from the account. There are no refunds of any fees associated with "No Shows."

What is your refund policy?

There are no refunds for treatments, gift certificates, late cancellation fees, "No Show" fees, supplements, herbs, or topical creams.

Do the massage therapists accept tips?

It is customary practice in the wellness industry to tip massage therapists. Not every client chooses to do this, but the therapist is always appreciative of the recognition and support of tips. We encourage all clients who choose to pay for services on a credit card to tip in cash whenever possible. Tips go 100% to the therapist regardless of how the tip is given. You may also tip your therapist using Venmo, Paypal, or CashApp if they have an account set up for receiving tips on one of these services. Please ask your therapist directly if they have one of those services for tipping.

We accept some health insurances. This is based entirely on your individual coverage. See the Insurance section of the About page for more information. Please contact the office directly to pre-verify your coverage. For best response times, call us at 412-772-1461 or email your insurance questions to contact@waywellnesscenter.com

Do you accept Veteran's insurance?

We are an approved provider with the VA. Please contact your insurance representative through the VA to learn how to have acupuncture and massage therapy services covered under your insurance.

Do you sell gift cards or gift certificates?

We sell gift certificates up to $500 in value through Jane App, our secure booking software. Gift certificates in any amount requested are also available in person. Full price must be paid at time of purchasing the gift certificate. Gift certificates are non-refundable and may have an expiration date.

Do you accept gift certificates or gift cards from other vendors?
